Measuring for Your New Kitchen Cabinets
1. On a sheet of paper, draw a rough diagram of your kitchen. Make note of where you want your appliances
2. Measure the length of each wall, corner-to-corner, of your kitchen
3. Measure the width of your windows and doorways from outer edge of molding to outer edge of molding
4. Measure from the outer edge of window and doorway molding to the corners of you walls
5. If you have one window on a wall, you should end up with three measurements -- the width of the window and from each side of the window moldings to the corners. These measurements should add up and equal the corner-to-corner measurement of the wall.
6. Measure floor to ceiling in three locations per wall. Since rooms are not perfectly square, use the smallest measurement. This will help to determine the height of your wall cabinets.
